Christian Vogt

 Christian Vogt is a Swiss photographer born in 1946, who is known for his amazing prints and series. It is known that Vogt is a part of photographers who push the agenda and step out of what is considered the norm or acceptable. There is a style of photography called Sachfotographie which translates to non-subjective photography. Example of this style of photography can be still-life photography. It is this type of photography that Christian Vogt wanted to step away from and it is because of this reaction that Vogt got into the works that he did and has changed the way amateurs and professionals go about capturing the perfect shot or what the inspiration behind an image is. 

Christian Vogt has made his way through editorial photography and advertisements. With experience in that, many of his work and series always has a theme behind it. One of his works that I've taken appreciation of is "Skinprints". "Skinprints" is a collection of photos with thoughts and perceptions written. It is a rubber stamps on the skin and not anything like a projection or paint. 

The reason why I found "Skinprint" to be so captivating is because it involves the human body, skin specifically" and what's written are thought provoking. For example, Vogt stamped the skin saying "things often happen not because but despite" and this statement alone speaks greatly. When things happen, it didn't happen just because. It didn't happen as a reaction but because when things happen, it is against the odds, it happened without affect. This makes sense to me because not everything happens as a cause and effect but instead it is happened regardless of and it was out of our control.

Vogt continues to inspire me and looking at his work, I can gather a lot of knowledge from him and use some of this thinking and analytical skills to build up my own products, prints, and series.

Annie Leibovitz

Annie Leibovitz is an American photographer who is best known for her intimate, engaging, and dramatic portraits of celebrities. More than that, she is a creative designer, talented eye, and an icon in the field she is in. She is considered a living legend and has truly lived up to this title.
