Annie Leibovitz

Annie Leibovitz is an American photographer who is best known for her intimate, engaging, and dramatic portraits of celebrities. More than that, she is a creative designer, talented eye, and an icon in the field she is in. She is considered a living legend and has truly lived up to this title. An inspiration to so many, Annie Leibovitz has definitely played a role in how I see photography and skills embodied when capturing the pieces and images wanted. 

In 1970, Leibovitz started working for Rolling Stone and in 1973, at the age of 23, she became the first woman to be named chief photographer of Rolling Stone and she did that for the next 10 years. From her time at Rolling Stone, she recognizes her images of Mick Jagger as one of her favorites. Something that she is well known for is taking a photograph of John Lennon and Yoko Ono hours before his death in December of 1980.


From Rolling Stone, Leibovitz moved on to Vanity fair where she continued to master her skills and then found herself working for Vogue. Many of the portraits that she takes involves nudity, lights, loud and bold colors, poses, covering in paint, and more. 




Annie Leibovitz is an amazing artist and pure talent. The work that she has put out continue to inspire and give people the will to go out and do the same. She has broken many traditions and became the first of many. Annie Leibovitz is the epitome of womaness and photography. She has proven time and time again that all she does is elevate when it comes to her career. I hope to one day have the same impact and possibly even more. I want to inspire, create, and produce. Annie Leibovitz embodies this and more.

John Dugdale

 John Dugdale is an American art photographer best known for his cyanotypes and platinum prints. John was born in Connecticut and by the age of 33 he was blind through a stroke and an HIV related illness called CMV retinitis, and was only able to have 20% of his vision. With this unfortunate outcome, Dugdale found that his career in commercial photography had ended but that opened up doors for him to tap into history and use techniques of fine art from the 19th century. Dugdale has since used large formatted cameras to produce cyanotypes and platinum prints through the use of the albumen process.
